ISTANBUL HALF DAY TOUR (Morning)

ROMAN AND BYZANTINE PERIOD (3rd century BC - 1453)

The first settlement of the Historic Peninsula is pagan Byzantion. After the collapse of Western Rome, the capital of East Rome, which has become the most powerful center of that day, has been evolved into a Christian capital, Kostantinopolis. Built on seven hills like Rome, it was built as a sign of the power of the emperors of Constantinople, and was equipped with splendid structures such as churches, monuments, cisterns and Hippodrome, symbolizing religious greatness.

Istanbul has been home to different civilizations and cultures throughout the ages and has preserved the cosmopolitan and metropolitan structure where people from various religions, languages and races live together and has become a unique mosaic in the historical process.
