Did you know that the Göreme Open Air Museum in Cappadocia is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site? UNESCO-protected area since 1985 is one of the most rare regions in the world. It is known that the Goreme Open Air Museum hosted the monastic life of the Anatolian geography from the 4th century to the 13th century. Goreme open-air museum, which witnesses the most special and mystical periods of history, shows the geometric ornaments from the early years of Christianity and the works depicting the life of the Prophet Jesus.

Cappadocia is an UNESCO World Heritage site.

Set deep in the heart of main Anatolia, the wonderful region is underlain by sedimentary rocks formed in lakes and streams and by ignimbrite deposits that erupted from ancient volcanoes roughly 3 to 9 million years ago.

This tour will bring you to the caravanserai built on the ancient trade routes along with to the underground city of Saratli Kirkgöz. Invest a day exploring the rock houses at Uchisar castle and pigeon valley, which is full of dovecotes. See Cavusin Village rock houses and rock church and pay a see to an onyx workshop and handicraft carpet production centre.

This is a wonderful trip with filled with beautiful surroundings and abundant in history and culture which you will always keep in mind for the rest of your life.

Day 1: Drive to Cappadocia

Hotel pick-up followed by transfer to Taurus Mountains in the Alpine belt of Central Anatolia. About 1,5 hour after breakfast you will visit the Mevlana Museum at Konya City. Next stop is the Caravanserai and the underground city of Saratli Kirkgöz. Arrive in Cappadocia and check into hotel for the evening.

Day 2: Full day tour in Cappadocia

Spend the day exploring Cappadocia and the Devrent Valley region. The day includes visits to the Pasabag Valley, Göreme Valley and town of Göreme, a beautiful town nestled among the fairy chimneys. After lunch travel to Cavusin Village. In the evening there is the optional extra of a whirling dervish show and Turkish Nights show.

Day 3: Return home

Return to the coast, we will pause at the town of Avanos, famous for its earthenware pottery. See Kizilirmak River, the longest river of Turkey (1355 km). We will stop at a pottery centre and visit the "3 Beauties" fairy chimneys. Enjoy a lunch break at Aksaray on the famous Silk Road trade route.

What to Remember

Price: 3 day trip from Cappadocia

Routes may be changed by the guide for other or seasonal reasons. Visiting some museums or ancient ruins may not be possible due to renovations. In the past few months, the ruins and open-air museums will be much shorter than the prepared ones.

On this tour we have several shopping breaks at local craft industries.

Meistens ein wenig holprig, schlechte Autofederung.



Guide:
Man merkte, dass er einem nur mag, wenn man seine Zusatzverkäufe annimmt. z.B. Essenspaket, Abendprogramm
Man hatte kaum Zeit zu fotografieren, an unnötigen Stops wurde teilweise mehr Zeit verbracht als bei Highlights.



Essen:
Das Essenspaket haben wir zum Glück nicht gebucht. Das einzige Problem war, dass sich diese Restaurants genau am sehr ab gegeben Orten befanden wo man sonst nichts zu Essen finden konnte. Gezwungenermassen musste man frühzeitig kleine Snacks einkaufen.



Die Region an sich war sehr schön, aber aufgrund von den Besuchen in Fabriken hatte man zu wenig Zeit für die wundervolle Natur. Preis- und Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Deshalb kann man nicht zu viel bemängeln.
