Dental implants

Dental implants are aetificial tooth roots that are used as a replacement for teeth that have been lost, either for a single or multiple teeth at both the lower and upper jaw restoring both the function and appearance of the teeth. İmplants are used to support crowns, bridges or dentures & may often be the best option for empty spaces.

 

Dental veneers

Veneers are thin, strong shell type pieces of ceramic or resin that are bonded to the surface of the teeth. Used to repair, correct or improve chipped, cracked, stained or decayed teeth and often to disguise gaps between veneers are permenent & fitted in the same way as a false nail.

 

Crowns

A crown restores function and appearance of the teeth. İt is a type of cover / cap that completely covers a real tooth that has broken, decayed or been damaged, or just to ma tooth look better. Suitable for a single tooth or for many crowns are an essential part of a smile makeover.

 

Bridges

A bridge is a fixed replacement for a missing tooth or teeth anchored into place with two crowns on the neighbouring teeth on either side of the empty space.

 

Bonding

Using a special tooth coloured resin which is hardened using a special light a tooth’s appearance can be restored & improved by changing the length, shape. cracks, chips, discolourations, spaces between the teeth, protect a portion of the tooth’s root and is usually completed during a single session at the dentist.

 

Fillings

Most people experience a cavity in their teeth, fillings are used to repair damage to the structure of the tooth or teeth. Structural damage can be caused as a result of tooth decay, wear or trauma. Over the last few years there have been many advances in dentistry that make the treatment process safer, more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.

 

inlays/Onlays

Dental inlays and onlays are a long lasting & cosmetic way used to povide a filling to a cracked, fractured tooth or that is cracked or is fractured but are not damaged sufficiently to support a crown.

 

Root canal treatment

Root canal treatt treats infections, diseases and absessed teeth at the centre of the tooth (the root canal system) When the blood or nerve supply of the tooth has become infected, if root canal treatment is not carried out, the infection will spread & the tooth may need to be taken out.

 

Scale and polish

A scale & polish is a very common dental treatment which is carried out as a form of oral preventative treatment. Dental cleanings involve removing plaque (soft, sticky, bacteria infested film) and tartar (calculus) deposits that have built up on the teeth’s surface over time & then polishing.

 

Extractions

A severely damaged tooth may need to be extracted. Permanent teeth may also need to be removed for orthodontic treatment.

 

Wisdom tooth removal

The wisdom teeth grow at the back of your gums and are the last teeth to come through, usually in your late teens or early twenties. Most people have four wisdom teeth, one in each corner. Sometimes they emerge emerge at an angle or get stuck and only emerge partially, known as impacted causing discomfort / pain they may need removing.

More commonly known as false teeth, dentures are used to replace missing teeth or damaged teeth that cannot be replaced or repaired in any otyher way. in place of natural teeth. There are many different type of dentures, each prepared individually using impressions from the gums for each patient to replace some, all of the teeth or to sit on the top of implants, any denture should be re-assessed every 5-7 years for fitting due to changes in our body associated with the ageing process.
