Kekova island
Across the villages of Kaleköy (Simena) and Uçağız (Teimiusa), it is an elongated island with a length of 7.4 km and a width of 500 m. This island is also known as Kekova Region by giving its name to the whole region. The deepest part of the sea is 105 m. Kekova's name has been used frequently in tourism and protectionism due to its current status. In fact, boat tours around this area began to be known as "Kekova Tour" and, more importantly, the archaeological and natural protected areas of the island and its surrounding area were named as "Kekova Site".
The Lycia rock tombs and amphitheatre at Myra are an exceptional sight and not to be missed. Now called Demre, the town is best known as the place where Santa Claus brought joy to the world under his other name of St. Nicholas. The saint lived and worked in Myra and an 11th-Century church once held his earthly remains. He was born in nearby Patara, before becoming a priest, rising to the rank of bishop and conducting much of his good work in the Roman town of Myra, a name derived from myrrh.
Legend has it that he would drop small bags of gold coins down the chimneys of houses of poor girls who were old enough to marry but had no dowry. Sanctified for his good works, he became the patron saint of virgins, sailors, children, pawnbrokers and Holy Russia.
Today the Church of St. Nicholas is Demre's most visited site but there are other things to see in this lovely coastal Mediterranean town. About 2 kilometres inland are the ruins of Roman Myra, with a well-preserved theatre and impressive rock-hewn tombs.

What to Remember
Early departure 06:00 from hotels and Driving is approximately 205 kilometres to Myra.
The itineraries might be altered slightly by the guide for seasonal or other reasons. Visits to some museums or ancient ruins may not be possible due to renovation work. In the very hot months of July and August, breaks and visits to open-air museums and ancient ruins may be shorter than planned.
Please bring towels and sun creams.

“Viel Bus fahren, aber schöne Bootsfahrt”

Von Side aus inkl. dem abholen anderer Teilnehmer nur zu empfehlen, wenn einem stundenlanges Bus fahren nichts ausmacht. Die Bootsfahrt bei Kekova war sehr schön ( ca. 45 min. ), bei den 2 nächsten Stops ( Kirche + Myra ) keine Führung dabei, dafür nochmal Extra Eintritt zu bezahlen ( € 8,- ); auch waren die wenigen Infos die man im Bus und am Boot bekommen hat auf englisch, obwohl auf meinem Voucher garantierte Durchführung in deutscher Sprache stand. Da ich Englisch kann, für mich kein Problem.
Alles in allem- wer Myra und Kekova sehen möchte- lieber ein Hotel in der Nähe buchen, da der Großteil der Zeit im Bus verbracht wurde.

wurde pünktlich abgehohlt, tour verlief nach plan und darf für ein türkeiurlaub nicht fehlen wenn man kulturliebhaber ist.
Waren 2 Guides dabei, einer für Deutsch/ Englisch sprachig und eine für russisch sprachige gäster.... einfach top
wir waren 3 deutschsprachige, 1 deutsch/russischer und 1 Schotte für unser Guide, und bei den russischen gästen war glaub eine gruppe mit 4 oder 5 gästen ( weiß es nicht mehr genau) ;).
Auf der helfte der hinfahrt wurde eine frühstückspause eingelegt wo man was zum essen kaufen konnte und lecker türkischen tee trinken konnte.
Danach ging es weiter zur versunkene stadt wo man aufs schiff ging.
Danach waren wir is Theater und danach ging es ins Museum Sant Nicolaus. Danach ging es zum mittag essen ( was nicht so gut war) und danach ging es zur rücktour mit einer 10 minuten pause in antalya an einer tankstelle.
Der busfahrer hatte leider nicht die beste fahrweise, aggressiv über die geschwindigkeitsbollen gefahren. Tour ist billiger im internet hier!!!!

Der Ausflug ist sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man sich für Kultur und Leute begeistern kann.
Eintritt Myra und Noel Baba 13 € ist okay. Genug Zeit an beiden Halten.
Schöne Schiffsfahrt, leider ist der Glasboden des Bootes nicht mehr der neuste, schlechte Sicht.
Tour Guide hat super deutsch und englisch gesprochen und war auch sehr unterhaltsam und lustig.
Ca. 3 Std. Fahrt nach Demre, ist aber aushaltbar im Klimatisierten Bus.
Keine Verkaufsveranstaltungen vor Ort, nur reine Besichtigung.
Uns hat leider gefehlt, dass der Tour Guide mit in die Atraktionen kam und etwas zu den Orten erzählt hat. Erkunden auf eigene Faust. Infomaterial zu den Stationen jeweils vor Ort.
Organisation sehr gut, Ankunft am Hotel in Side ca. 21 Uhr.

Schöne Tour, aber für eine solche Langstrecke wäre ein Bus mit mehr Beinfreiheit-Sitzkomfort schöner gewesen. Wir sind in Side um 06:00h zugestiegen und wurden gegen 21:30h wieder dort abgesetzt Besichtigungszeiten waren zwei maximal drei Stunden. Die restliche Zeit haben wir im Bus verbracht. Die Körpergröße meines Mannes beträgt 192 cm. Er konnte seine Beine wegen des geringen Sitz Abstandes nicht normal hinstellen sondern musste immer schräg sitzen.

The tour was well organised and the tour guide ensured that each part of the day ran smoothly. The Kekova boat trip was a highlight, full of interest and with beautiful scenery all around. The St Nicholas church and Myra rock tombs were fascinating, although we would have liked more information from our guide about the history of these places. It was a long journey from Side, but worth it, although would have been more comfortable in a coach rather than a minibus. Overall we would consider using this tour company again if we were visiting the area in the future.
